Leadership Skills Assessment

What is it?

The Leadership Skills Assessment is a tool to solicit opinions from followers about you as a leader and your ability to develop and maintain credibility.

Leadership is a process of developing a relationship between the leader and followers.  Who decides if a leader is competent?  The follower!  A “follower” is a person who plays an active role in the day-to-day activity in an organization.  He/she authorizes a leader to act on their behalf for certain decisions. 

Leadership is a process that develops credibility.  Everyone has an opportunity to play a leadership role each day.  An improvement in leadership skills can mean an improvement in the quality of work life.  Having credibility means having the trust and confidence of "followers".

Followers have certain basic expectations.  Followers want leaders who have the ability to:

  • Create, and communicate a vision and strategy.
  • Behave with integrity.
  • Inspire others (employees, customers, suppliers, business partners and investors).
  • To accomplish tasks i.e. being capable and competent.

Followers confer power upon a leader.  Followers will willingly follow, if the leader is credible, because everyone will benefit.  The operative word is willingly

An effective leader is able to solicit commitment (vs. compliance) from his or her constituents by developing credibility.

  • The package includes up to 11 assessments.  Choose a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 10 “followers” who will complete the Assessment and you complete one for yourself
  • The followers receive a “link” to the website via email and they complete the assessment about your behavior at work
  • You complete a survey to rate yourself
  • Print and read the comprehensive report
  • Have a 30 minute coaching session (all included) with Wally Hauck.  The coaching session will help you address your greatest concerns, identify pitfalls and provide specific strategies for developing greater credibility.
